Thanks :)What is a very good and simple mashed potatoe recipe?
This is the best, trust me, you will not go wrong with these potato's. Peel, and dice about 4 russet baking potato's. Boil in salted water till fork tender. Drain, place pot back on stove, and put about half a cup of milk in the bottom and bring it to a simmer, put a good amount of black pepper then add back in the potato's. Now this is what makes these potato's sing, put in a 3/4 pack of cream cheese. Turn heat to low and mash right on stove. You may need to put a little more milk if they are too stiff, and check to see if they need moore salt before serving. The cream cheese makes them soooo creamy. They won't win any health awards, but it never fails to impress. What is a very good and simple mashed potatoe recipe?
Peel 3 pounds of potatoes.
Slice into cubes, maybe 2x2 inches or so.
Boil lots of water as if making pasta. 1 Tablespoon of salt per quart of water.
Place potato's in boiling water and simmer 16 - 18 minutes.
Meanwhile, bring 1 1/8 Cup cup whole milk to a gentle simmer or microwave to get warm.
Empty potato's into a colander when done. Get rid of excess water.
Place potato's in large bowl with the milk and 6 tablespoons of softened butter add 3/4 teaspoon of salt and, 1/2 teaspoon of pepper.
Whip, perfect every time. Serves 6.
boil your tatoes like everyone else said...
when they are JUST fork tender drain them
add 2TBS butter
1/2 cup or sour cream
couple of snips of chives if you have them
1TBS garlic powder or grated garlic to taste (it blooms(gets stronger) as it sits)
mash... if not creamy enough add more sour cream (depends on how big the potatoes are)
ALWAYS go over well and match with most dishes. Works well alone or with gravy.
use a small 2 pound bag of baby reds. cut them up (leave the skin on), boil until tender. Add cream, butter, garlic powder, and a little grated cheese. Beat with a hand mixer. Add salt and pepper to taste. very yummy and you can use the leftovers for potato cakes.
5 or 6 good sized potatoes, halfway peeled. You can completely peel them, but I like some skins in there. Boil the potatoes. Mash in a bowl, add butter and salt to taste.
uh..... Boil potatoes, drain and mash them. add a little butter, and milk. put into a bowl and sprinkle with parsley. It's not that hard.
